So 2019 my wife’s cousins son Jake Holton played for the Creighton Bluejays they made the tournament and drew Corvallis Oregon. Was the best weekend ever and we partied every night in the lobby and let me tell Creighton travels well. So Friday they played Michigan and this pitcher Kauffman shut us out was first rounder for Rockies. Double elimination next day we’re facing defending champions Oregon St. who also lost on Friday and we took them out. So Sunday we play I think was Texas Tech we win that game so now we have to play Michigan again that night we were down 7-4 going to top nine we score 7 runs was the most exciting thing was better than sex. We get three out bottom nine and we’re in the lobby drinking laughing what a night. So we have to play Michigan again Monday night to see who advances to Westwood for super regional. We got up 4-1 but our pitching was all used up and Michigan had to much hitting we lost 14-4 and our bubble was burst. I was looking forward to entertaining everyone here in LA would of been fun. Michigan was one of the last 4 in give them credit they beat UCLA went on to W.S. And lost to Vanderbilt in the championship World Series game. So any way Jake got drafted by the Tigers in tenth round. Right fielder Will Robertson drafted by Toronto in fourth round and second baseman Issac Collins drafted by the Rockies in the sixth round. Going to see Issac play he’s on the Fresno Grizzlies and will be coming to town to play The Inland Empire 66ers for a six game series we’ll be there to root him on in our Creighton University gear. Hopefully in a couple years I’ll bump this thread when and if any of them make is to the majors.

Well the Orioles need all the help they can get if your in their farm system you got to think if you have any talent you’ll be up sooner than later. Same thing with Jake beings he’s in the Tigers farm system. Jake play’s first base and Miggy isn’t going to be there much longer but damn Detroit with the first overall pick last year drafted a first baseman out of Arizona St. the bastards. Hoping he gets traded to a west coast team maybe be that player to be named later. Lol

I like these kind of stories. I have been hosting players for summer ball for 10 years now. I have had 25 players stay with me so far and I had my first one make it to the bigs last year. It was a September call up, but it's still cool. I had one player get drafted last year second round. This year I have 1 in AAA, 1 in AA, 2 in High A and 1 in rookie league. I still keep in touch with most of the guys and even some of their families. Been invited to 2 weddings, third one coming up this year. We travel to see them play in the minors and also travel to see them play college ball. College ball is the best

College ball is the best Jake played for Santa Barbara community college But then transferred and we never made it to Nebraska. Listen to his games via internet. During season sparse crowds but come tournament friends and family come out of the woodwork and like I said the Corvallis Oregon was a memory of a lifetime helped they made it to final game of course. If a tournament ever comes to your home town I suggest to anyone go check it out and find the hotel the teams are staying and crash the party.

I went to the college world series 4 years ago, had 3 players on 1 team and 2 on another that made it there. It was an awesome experience. FYI, LSU fans can party

Maybe you know is there going to be any single A ball this year after the draft? I know MLB contracted I don’t see the Connecticut team Jake played on two years ago and Will Robertson is currently playing on the Vancouver Canadiens of which he played on two years ago so it’s not single A anymore.

List of all minor league clubs includes schedules and roster for each team. There is also an Arizona League or "rookie" ball for a lot of the new draftees and more used as a developmental league. I have 1 player there because he had arm troubles and is rehabbing his way back

Season ended yesterday and here is the progress report and it's all good. Jake Holton my wife's cousins son was like a phoenix rising from the ashes. He started out in extended spring training I was worried did not see him on a roster. Text his dad and he said he had not been assigned a team yet and that was about it. I figured extended spring training and when we went to see Issac play in San Bernidino he informed me Jake was in extended and was no big deal.So early June he was assigned to Lakeland Fla. but was riding the pine. He played a game here and there and was batting in the nine hole. To cut to the cheese he started to hit the snot out of the ball was batting middle of order and eventually was promoted to High A Western Michigan Whitecaps. And it got better from there when you change leagues you start from scratch just like AL to NL and vice versa. He finished the season .306 and a .920 OPS amazing.

Issac Collins: You think Jake did well Issac is a stud.So he also started off in lower A with Fresno Grizzly's we went to see him play when they came to town and his Mom and girlfriend had flown in for the series and two very lovely ladies. I had meet his mom when we were in Corvalis but was a pleasure to get to know her better and his girlfriend is a hottie. So went to 5 out of 6 of the games played here and the very next day he was moved to Higher A. I was so happy for him but bummed we were not going to be able to go to his games anymore he would of also been playing in Rancho Cuggamunga road games. And this last week he was a one man wrecking crew he leads off steals bases is a switch hitter your going to be seeing him on TV sooner than later IMO. He finished with the Spokane team .312 and .895 OPS. Spokane is playing Eugene starting tomorrow in a best of five.Like I was texting his mom yesterday hope he continues his wrecking ball and if he gets invited to spring training next year let me know and we'll be in Arizona in a heart beat.

I know, it's not like he said his wife's cousin's son is the best prospect since Mickey Mantle or something
